Excellent work, honest company

My husband and I hired Al in 2019 to do a substantial renovation to our house in Newton. We were expanding from 1300 sq feet to 3900 sq feet, with all new baths, kitchen, etc.
It was a complicated project involving integration of the new addition into the front portion of the original colonial house, which we retained (but partially gutted).

Al was honest, he did great work, and he always showed up: three really important qualities that can be hard to find. The same can be said for all his subs, who were all respectful, friendly, showed up promptly, were easy to work with on details, and did high quality work. Our project was a long road, particularly as it dragged on through COVID, when things were temporarily shut down in Newton and the supply chain was disrupted. Throughout the whole thing, Al was responsive, thoughtful, and easy to work with. He always displayed an attitude of wanting to get the work done in a timely fashion, getting it done right, and getting it done in a way that made us happy – even when it meant working through minor details of things we wanted “just so” in particular parts of the house. He always listened, and he always got it done so things looked great.

Everyone who has come over has commented on how beautiful the finished house looks, from the design down to all the little details that Al and his guys did. The work was really fantastic, and I appreciate very much all the time that Al did to get this done, even through a pandemic!

I have recommended Al to several friends who are thinking of doing similar work and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

Beautiful home renovation

We hired Al & Chris in 2017 to embark on a complete home renovation to our home built in 1910. Right from the start, we had a level of comfort with their approach, their communication style and their dedication to the job. Once underway, there was progress seen everyday (early morning, late night and even weekends at times). Our entire house was gutted to the studs and then a large addition added to nearly double the size of our footprint (kitchen, bathrooms, hardwood floors, crown moulding, etc.). Al and Chris were in constant communication with us providing timelines, offering advice/recommendations, monitoring allowances, etc. The outcome was beyond our expectations – integrating a large addition flawlessly into our old home, adding some finishing touches that we hadn’t even contemplated and doing this all on time. They had estimated 6 months and we moved in exactly 6 months to the day from breaking ground.
We have several friends in town who have since engaged Al & Chris on similar projects, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, honest, high quality contractor.

Amazing from start to finish!

We worked with Al and Chris to completely renovate our farm house that was built in 1880 and put a 450 sq ft addition on. Their ability to integrate the old with the new was absolutely amazing. When they gave us an estimated timeframe of around four months everyone thought it was crazy. We were back into our house right around that time and even made it in before Christmas. Al and Chris communicated before, throughout and even after the project was completed to make sure that we were thoroughly satisfied with the work. Their quality of work is superb. Neighbors commented throughout the project that they couldn’t believe how quickly they were working. Everyone who steps into our home is blown away by the beautiful finish carpentry that adds so much charm. Their work and professionalism exceeded my expectations. Two of our friends are now working with them on their home renovations as well. I would absolutely recommend them.

This company was a good find

Aroldo is great to deal with. He will listen to your suggestions as well as offer his own. For example, I was looking to add a hatch on myflat roof with a skylight which would have costed me hundreds to implement. Aroldo came up with a custom solution that saved me money and eliminated the leaks that I found when I bought the house. Interior Finishes remolded my back porch, performing rough and finish work. Their capabilities extend beyond just interior remodeling.

They know what they do

Exterior Front porch demolition and full replica replacement + foundation repairs/New Masonry front walk. Thier work and knowledge is far greater then is marketed on the web site. When we first met, and with every subsequant visit and stage of work, I realized that Al knew and was very experienced with everything from general construction, foundation work, local building code as well as working with the local inspector. The finished project is beautiful, solidly built and I truly feel it will last a very long time.
